This auction in Osaka holds twice weekly sales and will process ten to twenty thousand cars during the week. Cars are sold
simultaneously on both screens every ten
seconds.
Auctions use a very accurate grading system with each vehicle having a detail sheet created by their inspectors with any imperfections listed even down to minor stone chips. The registered buyers/agents will view the reports the morning before the sale. They will then physically inspect the cars that they are
interested in and bids will be placed by
pressing buttons on a computer screen during the sale. Bidding in error results in an
automatic 20,000 Yen fine, so the buyers have to be very skilled at their job!
